How to Help / Donate

2017-18 Search and Rescue Fund Raiser

The Park County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue (PCSAR) is actively seeking donations to replace its oldest emergency response vehicle. PCSAR is an all-volunteer organization that operates on a limited budget. While the organization receives modest funding from the county, these funds are primarily used for maintenance and general operating expenses and in no way covers much needed equipment, especially major expenditures.

The vehicle we are looking to replace was a 16-year-old 2001 Ford Expedition which rapidly became a maintenance problem. It was one of four vehicles used by PCSAR, none of which is newer than 11 years old. In fact, none of our current vehicles are powerful enough to tow all of our resources safely. This is especially true of our mobile command post which must be deployed/towed using personal vehicles or a truck from County Buildings and Grounds. This severely hampers our ability to swiftly respond to calls for service.

Therefore, PCSAR is asking for your help. We are looking to raise sufficient funds to purchase a new one-ton diesel pickup truck with sufficient power to accommodate our emergency response. If you would like to help, you can donate in one of three ways:

1. Donate Online - Donating online will take you to our secure PayPal account. When making a donation online, we will receive a notification of your generosity. So be sure to complete all of the captions when donating on line, especially your email address.  Also under "Contributor" please include your full mailing address.

3. Donate in Person:

If you prefer to donate any other way, say for example presenting a check, cash or using your credit card in person, contact the PCSAR Coordinator at 307-527-8718 to set up and appointment. Or you can always drop off your cash or check donation anytime to PCSAR at the sheriff’s office at 1402 River View Drive in Cody or the Park County Annex at 109 West 14th Street in Powell.

You can continually monitor our progress towards meeting our goal by referring to the chart on this page. PCSAR is a registered Nonprofit Organization and therefore any and all donations are tax deductible. We would be happy to provide you with a letter documenting your gracious donation that can be used for tax purposes.

Also, donations of $50 or more will be provided with a window cling acknowledging your generous donation. These may be displayed on a business, home or vehicle to demonstrate your support for the Park County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue. Simply email and request the tax verification letter and window cling or pick them up when you make your donation in person.

Thank you for your generosity. Without community support, the Park County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue would not be able to adequately serve our residents and visitors.
